Bea, The shaper

The last character will be AI, completely. I'm not going to draw anything. Not even hand correction.

She will be a freak of some sorts. One day, a big burly man enters the Casino. As he enters, everything within one foot distance transforms, ever slightly. Chairs morph and fuse into tables. He talks to the manager (your character)

Big Man: I want to work here as a stripper.

Manager: We only accept female strippers at this time.

The big man's head turns into a cute girl's head.

Cute Girl with burly body: I am now female. 

Manager: You're a shifter?... I've never met one of you, or even talked to your kind before...

Cute Girl: That's what you think, silly. Anta Baka? My name's Beatrice! Let's fuck!

Manager: No thanks. I don't want my dick to morph.

Shapers are weird. They continuously and involuntarily morph things around them. They can voluntarily morph themselves as well, but it takes a lot of concentration, so they can only do it so many times a day. People know to keep their distance from these beings. Sex with a shaper is highly desired, but since you don't know if you're going to even have normal limbs after, you might not want to do it. Life is cheap in the wasteland though, so maybe given the opportunity, some dudes might bang a shaper until they don't have a penis anymore, and then just kill themselves. Contraception is an irrelevant concept to the shaper, as she can be as pregnant as she wants to be, at any time.

Manager: What do you want?

Beatrice: Money is meaningless to me. I wish to learn to please your customers. Give me a job, or face destruction.

Manager: You can have a job, but for now, stick with defending the property. It's too dangerous to have you around the customers.

Beatrice: I agree to your terms.

Manager: Hopefully, we can work on a safe way for you to... serve our customers.

Beatrice: I agree.

Story wise, Beatrice wishes to become better at fulfilling human desire; what more attractive way to do this than sex? (probably nude pix are safer). Her ultimate goal, whether it be world domination, or maybe she's just looking for a boyfriend, we simply don't know.

Mechanically speaking, Beatrice will need to play very differently from other characters.

  • At the end of your turn, customers have a 25% chance of outright discarding themselves if Beatrice is assigned to them, meaning that they just get up and leave once they get weird vibes about her.
  • Beatrice has higher stats than everyone.
  • Playing a card on Beatrice has a 20% chance of morphing that card into a "blob" card, and returning it to your hand.

    I'm still in the army (8 years now) and I've been working on a computer science degree, with a focus in game programming. Job and school are significantly slowing the game development, but I find myself still coming back to work on the game. I hope to make the whole game by myself, but I may save enough to hire someone to help. The game is neither purely a passion project nor a product I need to make to live... It's inbetween. On one hand, I prioritize job security in these trying times, but on the other hand, the diploma I'm chasing is essentially game development, and the general consensus is that you should not pursue a game development career; big companies tend to pay much less for the unlimited amount of workers that want to follow their dreams. I want to carve my own path. I want the game to be great, but it'll probably be another 5 years.

  They all use AI, except the last one which is background AI only. I still do my own personal edits like drawing in faces but AI has gotten really good to the point that it's not too necessary anymore. Anyways I assure the three of you looking it's still coming

  I have been working hard at real work... coming back home late. It's just the season for business. It's very stressful to think about. I like thinking about this game though. It's a great escape. I took those days in the past for granted.  I've made a lot of progress on the card texts.  Design wise, I'd say... 280 character cards 190ish finished, design only 60 Task cards 20ish finished, design only 80ish Job cards 20ish finished, design only. So I'm about 240 cards out of 420 cards. Slay the Spire has 370 cards. The game I'm designing is definitely more complicated than Slay the Spire, and it'll have more funky interactions, but I can definitely see whittling down the number of cards to something like 350 good cards, and then hentai will have it's own whopper of 200 or so... aided by AI I guess. All cards have a rough design, they just haven't been balanced or... connected very well to other cards. They need another go around. So I'm rushi...
